Madhya
Pradesh is the heart of India and the country's largest state.

Gwalior-
The Fort of Gwalior is a splendid structure.
The complex still has some well preserved Jain sculptures
and temples.
Jai vilas palace is the official palace of
Maharaja Scindia. It has a good collection of Belgian glass
work and gold. Archaeological Museum in Gujari
Mahal is worth visiting. Jahangir
and Shahjahan palaces are architectural wonders.
Tombs of Muhammad Ghaus and Tansen
are also worth visiting.
Khajuraho-
The Khajuraho group of temples were constructed between 950
to 1050 AD. Lakshman Temple, Matangeshwar Temple,
the Varaha Temple, Devi Temples, Chitragupta Temple,
and Vishwanath Temple are worth seeing here.
Jhansi-
The historic town of Jhansi is well known for its Fort. It
is near the temple city of Orchha.
Orchcha-
Jahangir Mahal, Sheesh Mahal and Raj Mahal
are exotic structures, quite breathtaking. Raja Ram Temple,
Chaturbhuj Temple and Lakshmi Narayan Temple are simply lovely.
Sanchi-
the Stupa at Sanchi is India's oldest stone
structure. It was built by Ashoka the Great in the 3rd century
BC.
Mandu-
is a beautiful pleasure resort. One enters Mandu through the
Alamgiri gate and Bhangi
Darwaza.
Jahaz Mahal is located between Kapur Talao
and Munk Talao lakes.
Ujjain-
is one of the holiest places in India. The Mahakal
Temple makes an interesting visit.
Pachmarhi-
is a beautiful hill-station in the Satpura Hills, hardly explored.
Bastar-
is in densely forested area and is home to many interesting
tribes.
Indore-
is famous for its Kanch Mandir a Jain Temple
whose interiors are made of multi-faceted mirrors and mother-of-pearl.
Bhopal-
is the capital of the state.
Taj-ul-Masjid, Jama Masjid and Moti Masjid are monuments dominating
the landscape. Bharat Bhawan designed by Charles Correa harmonises
with the surrounding landscape.
Panna
National Park, Kanha and Bandhavgarh Sanctuaries
are few of the biggest in the country and are home to tigers,
panthers, bears, sambhars and deer. Panna has infact, been
the backdrop of Rudyard Kipling's, "Jungle book".
