Andhra Pradesh is a coming together of the Telugu speaking regions of Chennai and Hyderabad states after the Indian Independence in 1947.

The state of Andhra Pradesh was first turbulently ruled by the Mughals and Kakatiyas, followed by a reign of peace by the Nizam in 1725.

Tirupati-
'the Shrine of Seven Hills' is India's richest and most frequented temple.

Srikalahasti, Chandragiri Fort and Palaces, are the relics of Vijaynagar rulers.

Lepakshi-
ought to be visited for the Virbhadra Temple complex.

Srisaulam-
has a group of Shaivite temples.

Alampur-
boasts of the 7th century Nava Brahma Temples.

Vishakhapatnam-
is a thriving harbour on the Bay of Bengal. Rishikonda and Ramakrishna beaches are perfect for a secluded holiday.

Amravati-
was a great Buddhist centre. It has the famous 'Ashoka Stupa'.

Hyderabad-
The twin cities of Hyderabad & Secunderabad are worth visiting.
Charminar is in centre with a double storey gallery of four minarets.Mecca Masjid is a 17th century mosque near Charminar.
Falaknuma Palace housesSalar Jung Museum the most expensive art objects, tapestries, carpets and the largest collection of diamonds owned by a single person. Regency Mansion and Rang Mahal are also worth seeing.
Birla Temple,Falaknuma Palace,Golconda Fort and Husain Sagar lake are worthy of a visit. 

Puttaparti-
Prasanthi Nilayam, the main ashram of Sri Sathya Sai Baba,known as the abode of highest peace, is situated here.

Pearls, Ikat weaves, Kalamkari, Siddipet, Dharmavaram, Narayanpet & Gadwal sarees. Nirmal fabric art and Nirmal wooden toys. Glass & lacquer bangles.
